    • Anthony Edward Stark or, Tony for short, received a severe chest wound while being kidnapped.

    • While his captures' plans were to force him to create a weapon of mass destruction, Tony built a mechanical suit of armor to help himself escape.

    • Later, Stark develops his suit, adding weapons and other technological devices he designed through his company, Stark Industries. He uses the suit and successive versions to protect the world as Iron Man.

    • Although at first concealing his true identity, Stark eventually declared that he was, in fact, Iron Man in a public announcement. ("I am Iron Man." sound drop)

    • Throughout most of his history as a Marvel character, he has been an establishing member of the famous group The Avengers.

    • Stan Lee created Iron Man to toy with ideas of American technology and involvement during The Cold War. However as years went by, he adapted in storylines as well as with technology.

  • The Voices Behind The Iron
